Our center's Founder, Kari Beadner was looking for a natural method of Familiy Planning after the birth of their first baby in 2011. After being introduced to the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System in April 2012 during her first postpartum/breastfeeding season; Kari was inspired to become a FertilityCare™ Practitioner. Kari studied at the Saint Paul VI Institute for Human Reproduction and completed her 13 month Internship in October 2013. After becoming a Certified FertilityCare™ Practitioner, Orange City FertilityCare™Center began and was affiliated with FertilityCare™ Centers of America in August 2014.
Kari was meeting with women and couples in her home office. Over 100 clients entered the Beadner's home to learn the wonderful truth about their bodies. Many women received hope and restored reproductive health while learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and working with FertilityCare Medical Consultants to access NaPro Technology. Through inspiration of a client couple Kari went on to become a Certified Labor Doula and loves serving her clients with Wholistic Education, Support and Care through their journey preconception - through birth and beyond.
Common questions continued to be asked, "Why didn't I hear about this sooner?" "Why was I not taught this in school?" and "Why was my doctor not educated about these basic aspects of women's health?"
During her search for the answers to these pressing questions, Kari was connected with 2 organizations that would transform the services of our FertilityCare Center for the better! The Guiding Star Project led by Leah Jacobson inspired Orange City FertilityCare Center to become an affiliate and Guiding Star Orange City began in August 2016 and Orange City FertilityCare Center became the first service partner. Services in FertilityCare, Pregnancy/Birth, Postpartum/Breastfeeding and Family Life Services were added to educate and support women to understand, embrace and love their natural bodies.
Along the way My Fertility Matters - Project of Germany was found to teach young girls at the ages of 10-13 years old about the beauty of their fertility and that "I can only protect what I value and respect". Through partnership of the My Fertility Matters and the Guiding Star Projects, the "Guiding Star Cycle Show" was launched in Orange City in 2019. Kari now serves as the National Coordinator of the Guiding Star Cycle Show.
After, 3 years of Directing Guiding Star Orange City along with all of her other professional responsibilities, Kari Beadner, CFCP, CLD began 2020 refocusing on her original passion of FertilityCare Education and supporting families in birth. The 7 years of FertilityCare Service as Orange City FertilityCare Center has now expand through 2 more FertilityCare Practitioners and 2 more locations of Sanborn, IA and Humboldt, IA! A name change of the center became appropriate and Orange City FertilityCare Center has changed it's name to Ashwood FertilityCare™ Center . The original inspiration of the name "Ashwood" came from Ashley, the name of the Beadners' 3rd child who died due to miscarriage in 2016. "Ashley" means - Lives in the ash tree grove. With further research Ash Trees have through time been known to have significant meaning that connect to Women's health and fertility as well. The Ash tree is famed for Strength. This strength also relates to health, rebirth and wisdom.

Our logo shows the history and growth of life in the rings of the ashwood as well as the cycles that a woman experiences throughout her life. On average a woman will experience 400 menstrual cycles. Her chart and knowledge of these cycles act as a historical record as the rings of a tree share its history of strength through the different seasons of life.
We hope that at Ashwood FertilityCare™ Center women would learn and be empowered by the knowledge of their menstrual cycles which is in fact the core of her health and the 5th vital sign of life.
